Seventh stop on my “Jane Addams Day” roadshow: members of AAUW-Illinois’ Hinsdale Branch greeting me at the Oak Brook Library for a screening of DINNER AT JANE’S, but this time the audience got the benefit of my meeting on Weds with Mary Jane Jacob (who gave me terrific background about Suzanne Lacy & the project of which DINNER AT JANE’S was a part).
As I do everywhere, I urged Branch members to let all their local libraries, schools & bookstores know that “Jane Addams Day” is imminent. Books for children, teenagers, & adults can be ordered from Women & Children First bookstore (AAUW-Illinois’ “official partner” for online orders).
Thanks much to Hinsdale Branch President Nancy Rosenberg & Hinsdale SWANS Coordinator Maggie Paris for their invitation, as well as Carolyn Furcon (a new Branch member) who provided extemely eloquent & heartfelt comments during the Q&A.
