After a week of exciting Chicago events, Adi & I flew to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. Thursday, she relaxed with family and friends in the AM while I went to the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Even tho I’d been a member from afar for years, this was my very first visit. What a terrific collection! Before leaving I stopped on the second floor to watch the “Welcome Video,” & what a treat. There was NMWA founder Wilhelmina Cole Holladay wearing a swan pin!!! At first I thought I was hallucinating, but no: look close & you can see it for yourself.
Someday I hope to ask Mrs. Holladay why she was wearing that specific pin on that specific day. I’m sure there’s a story, but for now the synergy was more than enough. Clearly “higher powers” knew Mrs. Holladay was “a swan” long before I did 🙂
