Well time flies when you’re having fun… or something like that… Since my last post in August, Richard & I have packed up & moved to Brooklyn! This is bittersweet for both of us, leaving behind 35 years of friends, neighbors, & wonderful Chicago memories. But so it goes. Richard is now working at SUNY Downstate Medical Center & I am learning the ropes here in Metro NYC.
Where exactly are we located now? We are just about smack dab in the middle of Brooklyn, in a transitional area bordered by South Propect Park (to our north), Ditmas Park (to our south), Flatbush (to our east), & Kensington (to our west). Follow the map clockwise (from macro to micro):
Our anchor is the Cortelyou Road Q Stop. New Yorkers all know that the Q is a great train. It takes us to BAM & the Barclay Center, then Union Square, then Times Square, then Columbus Circle, then Astoria. Astoria is where the wonderful Museum of the Moving Image is located & I can get there for screenings in ~ 45 minutes. Perfect!
In the words of Bollideus: “Wherever you go, there you are!”
Signing out now with love to all our Metro Chicago friends,
Jan (& Rich)
Key to Map: Point A is SUNY Downstate Medical Center; Point B is Beth Emeth Synagogue; Point C is our new apartment just off the intersection of Coney Island Avenue & Cortelyou Road 🙂
