Sometimes you can have all the right elements & still make a mess of it đ
Michael Caine plays âMatthew Morgan,â once a Princeton professor (!) & now living alone in Paris after the death of his beloved wife “Joan” (Alexander). Then a meet cute with a young ballroom dance instructor named “Pauline” (Clemence PoĂ©sy) puts a spring in Matthew’s step… at least until his tiresome children (Gillian Anderson & Justin Kirk) arrive from the USA with big chips on their shoulders.
Kirk (playing Matthew’s son âMilesâ) has a few worthy on screen moments but otherwise⊠feh!
A major disappointment for those–like us–who loved Sandra Nettelbeck‘s wonderful film Mostly Martha.
