Gorgeous young couple (Allison Miller & Zach Gifford) has a picture perfect wedding & then they fly off for a fantasy honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. But on their last night, they get lost & the next morning, when they stumble out of bed, they can’t quite remember exactly where they were or how they got back to their hotel… Uh-Oh…
Indeed, once home “Samantha” (Allison Miller) soon realizes she’s pregnant even though she’s been taking the pill… Husband Zach (Zach Gifford) is a homey sort, so he’s thrilled… that is until Sam starts acting weird… Uh-Oh!
Lindsay Devlin’s updated Rosemary’s Baby screenplay is well crafted and co-directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett do a good job is slowly building tension without every getting overly gory.
I especially liked the multiple camera placements–the combination of our own selfies (shot with our knowledge) & footage shot by those observing us (either casually or deliberately), means we’re almost always on display… & that is a really creepy thought!
Given that I’m not generally a horror fan, this film was much better than expected. (JLH: 3.5/5) Not yet seen by Rich.
