This year’s eleven day Rendez Vous with French Cinema (which opened on 3/6 and ran thru 3/16) included ten films directed by women filmmakers–the greatest percentage ever–and I saw every single one of them!
Although events were spread across the city, I ended up seeing all the films on my list at the Walter Reade Theatre at Lincoln Center, which means I made many emergency trips to the coffee bar at Epicerie Boulud where the espresso is very French and very strong!
I may not be a “real” New Yorker yet, but I’m definitely on my way 🙂
